Flour Sack Dish Towel: Cranes

The Bosque del Apache  Bird Sanctuary is one of the treasures and pleasures of living in New Mexico! If you can get up early enough to beat the sunrise and drive south for two hours, just a few miles past Soccorro, you'll enter into an entirely new world of birds! When you arrive just before dawn, an atmosphere of anticipation awaits you as thousands and thousands of sandhill cranes and snow geese wake up, ruffle their feathers, squawk, stretch, and settle back again until some unseen message tells them that it's time to lift off. The lift off leaves you open mouthed, gaping at the sky, at the beauty, the multitude, the noise, the fleeting spectacle of it all!

After the excitement  of seeing the lift off, as you drive around the sanctuary, if you drive slowly, you'll see wild turkeys, coyotes, bald eagles, deer, and  lots more birds whose names we don't know! Go there, it is worth a visit, and pick up one of these flour sack tea towels to remember your trip!

Are a birdwatcher in your neck-of-the-woods? Then this towel needs no explanation, you understand the delight at seeing birds take flight!
